Inspired by Susuma Yokota's experimental electronic album "Symbol". Uses samples of: Music for 18 Musicians by Steve Reich, Reverie by Claude Debussy, and Prelude in C by Bach.
This instrumental track was used in a student film.
The Lighthouse
The Lighthouse is myself and poet Brandon Schwartz. Together we made the track ZOINKS, and the spoken word EP Just Movement.

This was a fun experiment: making a vaporwave song. I used “The Less I Know the Better” by Tame Impala. Vaporwave is a fascinating genre of electronic music in how it uses nostalgia and how it can satirize capitalism and brand culture. There’s a surreal vibe from the chopping and screwing of samples of existing songs (and those songs can take on new meanings after their deconstruction). And, like many forms of art and Internet culture in the 2010s, there’s a few layers of irony to it. Is it art or a lazy edit of existing previous songs? Does it make a statement about pop/Internet culture, or is it pretentious to look for deeper meanings in these memes?

Los Angeles 2049
In 2017, Blade Runner 2049 came out and I loved the soundtrack by Hans Zimmer, so I tried my hand at making something similar. The tracks from the OST I was most inspired by and tried to mimic were “2049”, “Flight to the LAPD”, and “Joi”. There’s a little of the Blade Runner (1982) soundtrack by Vangelis in it too, which is also great. I used mostly default synths in Logic Pro X.
